A/C Fast Idle Solinoid

I finally got my AC running. Like always, it was good for about 10 minutes then i went south again :hb. Sort of like everything on my vette.

I have two issues:
1. How is the fast idle solenoid adjusted. It does energize when the AC is turned. It doesn't extended enough to goose the idle up a few 100 rom.

2. The AC fan high speed solenoid burnt out. The fan runs on the lower sppeds not high speed. Before I rip the console apart looking for it, I thought it a better idea to ask where it was located.

On the idle solenoid, there should be a hex head on the end of the plunger that contacts the carb linkage. You should be able to screw this in or out to get the proper reach to put the idle where you want it with the a/c on. It is energized through the a/c circuit.

I believe that the hi-blower relay is on top of the a/c blower box under the hood.

On my 75 the Hi Blower relay is mounted on the firewall just over the ac/heater box. It is a silver metal olong can type relay with several wires that plug into the bottom. I bought one a few months ago at a auto supply (Napa I think) store.
I had the same problem lo, med worked ok but no High. Worked great after replacing the relay.

I just got my AC fixed and converted to 134, but I blow the 30 amp AC fuse when I put the fan on high. Replaced the High Speed Relay, also checked the resistor (located in the ac blower box) it was okay. My other checks will have to wait until I return from Bowling Green and Nashville. I will probably try another relay first. However, if anyone has run into this same problem and knows the fix I would appreciate it. Good luck LIBoater.

Hopefully, the AC will put out enough air to keep my wife happy during the trip. :mad
