Hi everyone....got a question.

Have a 95 coupe.....sometimes some of the buttons for the a/c and temp. control do not work. For example, I could turn the temp. up , but not down. Or I can turn on the a/c but it won't go off. Then the problem will mysteriously go away and then just pop up again.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Franco

This seems to be a cronic problem with many c4s. My 94 does the same thing. Sometimes the buttons on the climate control respond and sometimes they don't. My problem has mostly been with the automatic fan speed button. Sometimes it lets me override to manual and other times not. I think they are tempremental critters by nature. Anyone else have this experience? Good Luck. :beer

Join the club I have also same problem and mine is so that if you put driving lights on before starting the automatic AC then the buttons don`t work:)

Do some searches on this, it's bad vacuum connections and/or the controller under the dash. Very common & intermittent. Mines at the dealer (ext warr) now for the 2nd try at fixing it. Even his "corvette expert" has trouble with this.

Lots of good info on this thread:

Mostly their problem was air on the floor and windsheild full time. But also no responsive buttons.

I have a 96. Started the same problem about a month after I bought it.

Going to pick a day and get under the dash and check the vac. lines.

IF that doesnt fix it, then I have a spare head CLimate Control unit I will pull the dash and swap it out.

If thats not a fix, then Im stumped!

Dudes!! I've been on here a month and finally may be able to help someone, I had the same problem with my 94'. You have to take the unit out and clean it. I did it and it actually worked. There was some sort of gunk that I figured was real old left over armorall. You first have to take the console out, then the radio, info bezel, it has three or four screws and it unplugs, it has four screws on the back and it slides apart. The contacts behind the rubber buttons get gummed up and stick. Take some contact cleaner and clean it up, put it back together and put the dash back and your done, it should fix it. If you want to try it I can probably talk you through it step by step more in depth, it was last winter when I did mine. Someone on the netvette.forum told me how to do it. Sounds like the exact problem you guys are having. Hope this helps. The hardest part is being very careful not to scratch you console while your doing this and once you get it out, you can see what you need to do.
