A/C problem

I have a particular problem with my 95 when my A/C is on. Whenever I am going up a hill or accelerate fast, the air stops coming out of the dash vents. Isn't the air accumulator located in front of the left wheel supposed to deal with this sort of thing. As soon as I back off on the pedal, the air begins again. Frustrating.

Two possibilities are vent doors closing (vacuum loss) or the fan shutting off (electrical connection opening up).

If the engine shifts around due to a bad motor mount and causes one of the above, maybe you could brake load the motor while standing still in forward or reverse gear to help diagnose the problem.

It's not an electrical problem, the fan doesn't shut down. The air is just diverted to my feet.

it sounds like a vacumm leak
it suppose to go to defrost if you have a vacumm leak so that way you can still see.
i found 2 leaks on these
one is on the pass side, it is a tee that breaks.
the other one is the vacumm line by the battery, i think it is for the cruize, either at the top by the battery or if yours runs under or by the battery.

hope this helps

Check under the pass/side fuel rail cover.
There is a vacumn tee that you can inspect for leaks or deterioration.:w

Air discharge location

There's a check valve (in the line between the manifold vacuum and the accumulator) that allows the vacuum accumulator to hold vacuum and keep the air coming out the correct location. If the check valve goes bad, the vacuum accumulator (reservoir) doesn't work properly. Most likely a vacuum leak or defective check valve.
I've had two cars that suffered the same symptom due to plugged up cats. The shift in air discharge location took a lot longer to occur (perhaps 30 seconds of uphill driving) than with a bad check valve (almost immediate). Hope it's a leak or check valve.

My check valve/tee is the same piece = $6 at the dealer. I broke it moving it around to get to something else. It looks like a regular tee but with a small cylinder in one of the runs.

I'll look for it tomorrow (lots to do tonight with the fires and all)
Thanks for the tip.

I found this also controls the cruise so if that is flacky you can fix 2 for 1 !
