Have a 94 and the air temperature is acting up. Can only get the heat to come on when the temperature is put on the highest setting. It has climate control. I ran the codes and they came up clear. Have removed the control unit and am getting it checked out. Any suggestions appreciated.

A/C problems

I had an issue with air control on my '94, which sounds slightly different than what you are experiencing, but it could be related.
There is a plastic T valve located under the passenger side CORVETTE plastic rocker cover ( above your heads ), that could have a small hole on the under side of it.
This vacuum line also controls your cruise control.

I replaced the T valve ( $10 bucks ) and my A/C & heat controls and my cruise control instantly starting working again.

You might want to have a look at yours.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be checking it out in a couple of days. Will let you know how it turns out.

Mine had the broken t fitting. It controls where the vents blow out and with it broken you only get air out the defrost and floor vents. The cruise will also be dead.

If you have issues being able to chenge the temp it might be more in the control unit. If you have it apart then get some contact cleaner from radio shack and clean all the connector pins. Over time they oxidize and don't make good contact so you get flacky results.

Easy enough to try !

Also check that there aren't any cracked solder joints

In a nut shell
1. remove the lid for the storage comparment in the console
2. remove the moulding arounf the shifter. You will have to remove the shifter knob first.
3. remove the moulding around the radio, control head. There is aclip you can't see on the left middle of the moulding so be careful and try to pull on it with an even but firm pull after you get the screws out. after that it's straight ahead, mounting screws and wiring connection on the back.
Hope this helps. Doesn't take too long.

Heat only on full up

Check out the ambient air sensor. I'm told it's on the passenger side of the radiator, way down low. Do a search (tab above). There were a lot of threads on this last summer. Those threads also described the resistance values at different temps for the sensor. They're in the service manual too, if you have a set.
My dad's car did exactly as you describe and it was the ambient sensor.
