After focusing on the temperature of the LT-1 at cruise I am pleased to report a new low of 186 F. I have switched to the Hypertech 180 thermostat. The other things were suggestions here on cleaning the front of the condensor and radiator. Water Wetter and the green stuff too.

No more Dex Cool for me.

Also there was a piece of plastic trim hanging down about an inch in front of the condensor all the way across that is now up and out of the air flow.

This seems about right for this engine; hotter than most 350s but cooler than most vettes. It's 80 today in Atlanta.

BTW- I got an unsolicited flirty finger roll wave from an Uber Peach in a new red C5 coupe followed shortly after from a fellow C-4 brother. His was more of a salute. That will put a spring in your step. The fantastic weather and Friday afternoon has everybody in a grand mood around here.

Glad to hear your Vette is running cooler. The lower thermo's do make a difference. We're having a really nice Friday here as well.

Thanks guys for the weather forecast. It was raining and cold here with the threat of the "S" word on Tuesday. I guess we'll have to put the vette to sleep for the winter sooner than expected. This is our first year with her and I will probably have withdrawals all winter not being able to drive her. This is when I really miss living in Florida. I get daily weather forecasts from my daughter.

Thanks,
Donna :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry

I don't understand the problem with DexCool - I'm used to seeing 175-180 temps on my 92 which has a 160 stat and is filled with DexCool, water & Water Wetter. Before switching to DexCool a few years ago, I saw the same temps with the green stuff.

So what's the big deal with DexCool?
