well guys, remember that '78 low milage L82 I got a few months back and I was working on?
I just listed in on the For Sale forum and it will be up on eBay by later today.

I hate having to sell it but circumstances just don't allow me to keep it at the moment.

if you have any interest in the car or know someone that does the thread is HERE

Once I get the eBay listing up I'll add it to my thread in the other section.

I just wanted you guys to know and let my CAC friends have first shot at the car.

i think i'll go out to the garage now and just look at for a while. Once she sells i'm going to miss this car. :(

Maybe we can find it a good home to someone here on CAC......

But ya know.....when you sell one.....it opens the door up to buying another one......:W Just dont tell the wife.....

well, she is a bit upset also because this car was meant to be "her" toy but she understands the circumstances. Someday we will get her another one.

yep, I'd love it to go to someone here on CAC - even better someone very local to us so I can work out "visitation rights". ;LOL

No Problem Barry!!! I've Found you another Project!! 2002 Z06 31,000 mi. :D ;LOL ;LOL :rotfl

I don't think so Junk. I don't do bodywork.

I'd love to have that motor out of there to drop into an older car though!
hmmmm, and the suspension would work nice on a SR111 frame under a project midyear :D

Oh Barry, I'm Not Parting it!! I'm Repairing it!! It only needs about $3,000 to $4,000 in Parts!! Accident History but no Salvage!! (GMAC Repo)!! :cool I got it on line a couple weeks ago!!:upthumbs

cool junk :)
I wasn't suggesting parting it, just saying that it would be a cool motor and suspension to have......... :)

as a repaired car it would be cool to have also!.

I don't know the first thing about doing bodywork though myself so things like that are very limiting to me

Barry these New Ones are a Piece of Cake!! I can Make it Look Like a Dirt Track Car in less than 3hr!! The Frames are Tough to straiten!! This one has very little Frame Damage at Bumper Reinforcement I'll have to replace it!!I've already replaced the Lt Front Suspension and Steering Rack!! Wait'n for a Wheel so I can Drive it Home!!:upthumbs

Good luck on selling your Vette and your sisters mustang. I sure hope the Vette beats the Mustangs price.

Hi C3
well, actually the reserve on the Mustang is higher than the reserve on the Vette!
I doubt the mustang will make the reserve on the eBay listing but I actually didn't really expect it to. In two weeks the wife and I are going to be at the All-Ford Nationals at Carlisle anyway (wife is a vendor) so we will end up taking the Mustang up there to put in the Car corral for sale and I'm sure it will bring the price she's looking for at the show.
The Vette though I think should make reserve as I think I set a very fair price as the reserve on it.

Time will tell on both though..........

I have a question. If the body is 100% original, and not a pace car, how come it has pace car spoiler on it. The option didn't come out for normal vettes until 79 (except the pace car). I've always wondered this. I've seen it before in magazines and at vette shows and I can't figure out why. Do you know, or am I just stupid?
thanx

nice vette!

i don't know. I suppose a previous owner purchased it seperately and had it installed?

Sorry to hear it has to go, Barry. You did a lot of work to it. I'm sure it will sell. I marked it on my EBAY page. Good luck. Chuck

I was kinda wondering too, but then again, who am I to complain, my 79, I had the back spoiler added when I just recently had it painted. I dont' have a front one on mine and haven't made up my mind if I'll add one or not.

thanks Chuck :) You know my situation and you know I wanted to be able to keep it for Linda but things just didn't allow that to happen this time around. Maybe the next project car we can keep.
Regardless, as sad as it is having to sell it the car helped me a LOT in learning how to work on these car and to gain expereince so it's not a total loss in the long run and hopefully I can put the newfound knowledge and expereince into a nother car that maybe we can keep.

you know I realized last night that I was really dumb about doing that ebay listing when I did and having the auction go over the weekend. At the time I completely forgot that it was a holiday weekend and now probably over half the people are not even at home that may be interested in bidding on the car.
I should have waited until this coming up week to put the car up on eBay!

oh well, if it doesn't make the reserve I'll wait a few days or so and relist it again.

ya, mine has the rear fin also. The front one was beat up, so I refiberglassed it so it looks different now. I love the fins. Personaly, I believe they make the 78 and 79 vettes look faster then hell when theyre sittin still!
