Here is what a used car dealer put on the back of a Corvette that some guy bought from them...it has 2 rivits in the name plate...would you be pizzed???:L

Pizzed aint the word!!:mad

That dealer would either A) replace the whole rear bumper, or B) pay me a monthly stipend for advertising!!!

When I buy a car, I have them put in the sales agreement that there will be no decals or other dealership nameplates on the car. I make them understand that I will not accept the car if they disregard this. So far, they've never had an issue with my request. So, if that was on the car when I examined it before delivery, it wouldn't be my car.

He might as well put a plaque on that says "I BUTCHER CARS". Guaranteed that he will never sell a Corvette again.

Not to a satisfied customer at least!

Update...I asked the guy why he didn't go back and raise heck and he said he tried but the dealer said that he left the lot without any complaint about it and the guy told me he didn't realize it was also rivited on so he is in the process of fixing it..heres the first step as you can see it was also double sticky taped...which should have been enough but nooooooooo the floging dealer had to use rivits.....

It looks better here and it will look even better after he puts some special paint leveling stuff on it...he filled the holes from inside the trunk...it would have cost quite a bit to take the rear facia off and have it repainted...:W

Well, its looking better... but man... I wonder how many dealers actually try to put their tag on a Corvette? I'm sure there are a few, but if they are a Chevy dealer, I think the car is enough of an advertisement.

In both of my Corvette purchases, the dealers I interacted with were quite firm about understanding the emotional appeal of Corvettes to their owners. Their attempts a advertising were limited to flimsy licence plate brackets they put around the temporary registrations for the car.

And in both cases, the flimsy license plate brackets didn't survive the real plates when they came in.

I'm astonished that there are actually dealers who think nothing of permanently marring a car- Corvette or not- for the purposes of self advertisement. That's got to be a sure way of not having repeat customers. This might be an interesting question for our sponsor from Bob McDorman Chevrolet, Jagsfan. I'd be interested in hearing what a reputable, experienced Corvette dealership has to say about this kind of everlasting defacement of a Corvette. Is this a norm?

You know, of the thousands of Corvettes that I have seen at Carlisle, there has never been a single one that had a dealer plaque or sticker on it. This guy must be a total bonehead!
At least we know who it is now.

I don't think he got it at the local Chevy dealer, hhmmmmmmm? There was probably a big sign at the front of the lot saying "We finance anyone!" But hey, paying 34% interest on a car loan is ok, isn't it?

I bought my Corvette from a used car dealer. They put a decal on the back of the cars they sell, except for the Corvettes. They don't put anything on the Corvettes.

I too got mine from a used car dealer... as I was walking out the door with the keys he said "I typically put my logo on the back of the car." My reply "this isn't your typical car." That was that, the only logo on the back is the one that says Corvette.

Did they want to tattoo the dealership name to the buyers forehead as well?:L

Even my old Z24 was clean of dealer decals as are the rest of my cars, and I brought them all home that way. No way would I have one on a Vette! -Eric:w

Out here in California this crap is against the law....... The only advertising for the dealerships (new and used) is a license plate frame which is removed at time of purchase. Wow California actually is doing something right...... Shows that there is always an exception.
