oh U would be suprised my friend, I have all kinds of peaple acting stupid to me and the majority of the time, the ones who are acting dumb R the ones who drives normal, regular car's like SUV's and small stock 4 door imports and stuff like that, I dont really understand why that is the case, and out of those types it's mostly Females who are driving them acting stupid to me on the road, go figure.

Most of the time, they just want to see what you can do. Sometimes, I'll oblidge and put on a show.:D

cool, why'd U move from here?

Had to go play on River Boats in Nam. Got zapped and medivaced back to the Mainland. Keep saying maybe someday we will come back but just about too old to surf, to ugly and fat to lay on the beach, and not rich enough to live at the marina. Sooooo. Looks like when we do go back it will only be for a visit and I can wear my white sock and loafers with my bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirt, and Jonesy hat. If we get over your way I'll give ya a holler and buy you and yours a beer or two. (Read as want a ride in that nice sounding, cool looking vette!!) See ya.

Spoil sport! :L

How long did it take for you to install that cam? The motor has to be pulled, right? I swear that I read with the LS1 and LS6 'Vette's, the motors don't have to be pulled to swap a cam.

No the motor doesnt have to be pulled, though it will have to be lifted up about 2 inches or do what I did and cut out a 1/2 inch notch in the cross beam and weld it back together leaving the notch in there for the future in case U decide to do another cam swap.

The LS-1's are mcu more simple from what I understand, my buddys gonna do his (C-5) very soon (cam's been lying under his bed for a few months now) so I'll know for sure what needs to be done when he starts his swap. :beer

Yes most definetly!! please do let me know when U plan on coming down here, I meet for the second time just a couple of weeks ago a action center member from San Diego, very very cool guy, very pretty wife and a well behaved daughter.

Hmm LT4 cam and 1.6 rollers ah??

Sounds great, remind me of the Star Wars' space ships sounds

Great looking & loud Vette

Uh? I did a cam swap on my L98 without moving the motor at all. Remove intake, valve covers, rockers, pushrods, lifters, radiator, timing chain, and have someone hold the AC condenser out of the way. Cam slides right out. On the LS1, if you are lucky, you can spin the cam real quick after removing the rockers and the lifters will "stick" out of the way and you don't need to pull the intake.

Why was I always under the impression that you had to lift the motor up or out? It just doesn't look like there's enough space to slide a cam all the way out! But you guys are living proof that there is enough space!

If U read back I did say U have to either "lift the motor up about 2 inches or do what I did and cut a notch out of the center beam" but it is not nessary to have to pull the motor out of the engine bay. ;)

yea some c-4's I've heared that very same thing, unfortunetly for mine I had to cut out a notch in the center beam and reweld the beam with the notch still there for future cam swaps if I so desired.;)

OMG!! That car sounds AWESOME!!! That idle is perfect for the islands!!

Punch,

did you loose any low end torque?
None, If U listen carfully when the scene where I open it up, you'll hear the rpms raise up high compared to the speed I was going at for a little bit, then you'll notice my car suddenly take off, thats because my tires had began to spin for a few yards then finaly catch grip, and thats with down shifting to 1st at 24 mph with an automatic and 3.07 gears, the low end greatly improved with the cam swap.

I know this will sound strange but the beat of the exhaust at an idle reminds me of the sound of the drums and the rythum of the music at a hula dance. (Use to live in Makiki above the HIC on Dominis Street,on Oahu.) Sounds great brudda!!

Randy:beer
hey that too is a good disciption on the sound, and after reading this (like the other comment about it sounding like a Locamotive going up hill) I close my eyes andI do hear the simularitys of the Tahitian Drums and the rythum of the pulse's coming from the exaust!! thats cool!!

music to my ears!

thanks for the clip, I didn't want to open up the engine before but it looks like I'm going to learn.

Just for some info, I was cruiseing at 24 mph, when I down shiffted I was able to spin the tires up the street quite a ways as U can hear from engine revving on the video and this is with an automatic with 3.07 gear ratio.

Sounds like enough of an increase for me....:)
