I put a new battery in a couple weeks ago. Today I was driving and the volt meter light flashed red with a voltage of 11.5. Then it went back to normal. It did this for a while. When I turned the car off, I now have absolutly no electric what so ever. No Christmas tree, no door locks, Nothing.
Start with the logical choice of checking the terminal connections to the new battery. Clean and tight. Check the cables to the ground as it could have wiggled. If you have a voltmeter check the battery for 12.5 just for giggles. That's the first link in a long chain but you may get lucky.
tlong....It turned out to be a bad battery cable. I want to thank you for your post to my message. I guess the other 53 people didn't even want to offer condolances.
Thanks for you input, I really appreciate it.
Either that or they were afraid someone would call them names for pointing out the obvious (which it turned out to be) or poke fun at them for suggesting something more exotic. Don't take it personally!!
Actually tlong posted before I read your thread. I would've suggested the same thing, and I didn't want to sound like a broken record. I did however watch this post, and if there would've been another problem I would've chimed in. Just because people dont post, doesn't mean they dont still take interest into your thread. If you would have needed more assistance I certainly would've offered my advice.
I just got finished slapping my own hand for my comments about folks looking, but not posting. I try to use the KISS formula (keep it simple stupid) for most any problem, but when the my baby is sick, we sometime jump the gun.
I really do appreciate all the infomation I get from forum, and it's members.;worship
