Fianlly figured out why my AC is blowing hot air at times. The switch on the high pressure line that provides the ECM a signal that the pressure has hit 233PSI is NG!

I have two questions... first, is the switch replaceable without discharging the system (some cars have a schraeder valve below the switches)? Secondly does anyone know the GM part number for that switch and where can I buy one?

I do know that you can replace the switch without discharging the system. I had mine replaced shortly after I bought the car. My mechanic replaced it for me. All I can remember is that he had a heck of a time putting it on since the schrader valve under the switch would shoot some freon and push the switch off the threads. Took him about 20 minutes to get it right. Sorry but I can't remember the part number but he got it from a local GM dealer so I'm sure it's easily obtainable.

Good luck.

Thanks....I was able to order one through a local AC parts distributor. I could see the pin to depress the schraeder in the bottom of the switch so I went ahead and pulled the old one off. You are right...it did blow some mineral oil mist all over but it wan't too bad. Now I have AC again :J

Well from one problem to the next....now at idle
i'm showing a hot 11.4V :mad :mad :mad

oh well! We did say CORVETTE didn't we!
