I have a 78 corvette L82 four speed, I evac the air system , put a new ac hose and dryer on, plus a orfice tube, the compressor is turning on but no air, the high side is low on pressure the low side is high on pressure, the tube that normally gets cold gets hot the tube that gets hot is cold, I am at a loss, tookit to a shop they are lost also , so any help out there please

The only thing I can think of is the hose manifold that connects to the compressor is connected up side down so the compressor discharge is blowing into the suction line and the discharge line is now the suction line. But I have no idea how that could be accomplished. On my 82 it would not be possible to connect these lines upside down.

Mr, Cool , you are exactly right , it was connected wrong, the strange thing it bolted right up, someone else took it off and dummy me installed it.

At least now you know if your heater core gives out on you you can turn your ac into a heat pump.
