Has anyone out there experienced any issues with their active handling during aggressive driving on the track? The reason I ask is that I have seen a couple threads concerning the system causing the brakes to be applied.

Today I got a call from the local perfomance driving school who is also using a 2006 Z. The car is basically stock and during laps the the left front brake rotor is glowing. They finally removed the ABS fuse and have been running the car since without any issues with the brakes. However they would like to get the ABS working again but not with the issues that they have experienced.

Anyone got any ideas, don't say go to a dealer because that has been done already and they have no ideas.

RWHL Handling

You bet!

Get out of shape or over your head and the active handling system will get your car back for you in most instances. It does that by measuring the amount of rudder that needs to be applied to correct the slip angle.

There aren't many drivers out there that have the ability to drive these cars to their limits with active handling turned off. You can try it but don't blame the car for your skill level and the expense of having to have new body panels.:ugh

If you are new to a track keep the A/H on. When you get familiar keep it off. Never pull the fuse on the antilock brakes. If affects steering and the brakes lock up all over the place.

HI there,
Find out WHY the brakes are applying.
This means, have a technician monitor ABS/TCS/AH data to see what the computer is seeing to apply the front brake caliper.
Steering wheel position sensor, yaw rate sensor and lateral accelerometer have all be suspects of this type of condition.
It is very obvious that there is a condition that is promoting that reaction by the control module.
HOWEVER, due to track conditions, tire compounds or other variables, there is NEVER a clear cut answer until all variables are compensated for.
Allthebest, c4c5
