Whenever the car is cold I get a "Active Handling Service Soon" at start up every 10 or 15 starts. I turn the car off and restart and it goes away. The only code is C1287H. Problem never occurs during driving or during the day, only when cold and then only once in a while, but consistant. I'm curious if it is steering sensor which was replaced 2 yrs ago, or the ECBM going out. Anyone had a similar problem? I have a 2004 coupe 60k miles

most likely a steering position sensor. it is inside the car on the steering column down at the firewall.

check to make sure the connector is connected. the part is ~100 usd

active handling service soon

I disconnected the connector and reconnected, and the problem went away for about a month, then came on once. Been 2 weeks and no recurrence. Not sure if it's a sensor problem or connector problem.
