adding power brakes

I'm considering purchase of a '72 w/o power brakes. I haven't had a test ride in it as in 1500 miles away. I was wondering what kinda braking can I expect? The brakes were upgraded to SS and the guy is using silicon brake fluid.
Is there a difference in stopping distance from 60-0 using power brakes vs. without? Is it harder to stop the car?

How difficult and costly would it be to add powerbrakes? and could a weekend mechanic do this?

Thanks,
Tony

The standard brakes work fine, but power is better.

You have to prettty much stand on your head in the driver floor board to disconnect and then reconnect the clevis pin for the brake booster.

You will have to drill two holes out in the mounting bracket and enlarge the firewall hole. Other than that you only need the booster, power brake master cylinder to proportioning valve lines, a vacuum connection on your intake manifold, and a friend to help you bleed the brakes.
