I recently purchased a 96 ce with a vortech SC. It also has a MSD ignition system, and a boost retard (adjustable). Does anyone have experience adjusting the retard? From what I have read, you should turn the retard up as high as it will go, and back it off until knocking ceases. I don't have any knocking, now. I have been running high octane fuel, and I'm still babying it... mostly. :)

Thanks in advance.

If you have a MSD boost master timing retard it has a screw that set at what boost it starts to retard and the numbers on the knob show how many degrees per lb. of boost that it will retard

Thanks for the information. Actually, I was looking for a procedure to set it correctly. I contacted MSD. They are sending me instructions. Anyone ever had troubles passing an emmisions test with a supercharger?

How you set it will depend on how much boost you are running and what you compression ratio is. I used my laptop to check for knock esc retard You adjust it untill the esc stops pulling timing out. Where I live we don't have inspections I don't think my cam would come close to passing. Good Luck on setting the Boost Master
