I have a 2003 ZO6. I blew the right rear tire. There's a 1" rip on the side wall if the stock 295/35z r-18. A new tire for me is $600CDN and the tread pattern is now different. I really dont want to replace the other rear tire which is at about 70%. I found some used tires off a C5 that are 295/45Z R18's so slightly higher also at 70%. Will these fit ok on my vette and not be an issue? I could just change the 2 rear tires and have the 2 front ones as a back up. THx for the advice in advance.

Hang in there, DS760, sometimes it takes a day or two for a response. Bear in mind, it's Saturday, and a lot of folks may be out cruisin' around in their Vettes.

I would say no. You have two different diameter tires there. A 295/45 is larger than a 295/35. The computer would see one tire rotating faster than the other which would cause the traction control system to think you are spinning the tires.

I have to agree, I wouldn't mix and match those tires. Here's what I found:

Stock tire: Circumference = 82.1"

New tire: Circumference = 89.4"

You're definitely going to mess something up.
