Advise for installing replacement convertible top

Hi ! Everyone

Anybody had install a replacement convertible top ?

I order one that is already cut and sew and want to install it myself.

Is somebody experienced the job and is there a few points I should be more cautious about ?

I figure that on c5 or c4 the technic was the same. So maybe that more people could read. I also done the post on the c4.Maybe i am not allowed to do on both. If so i won't do again.

I honestly don't know how similar the convertible top replacement procedures are between a C4 and C5. My Z06, of course, has no removeable roof portion.

There's no problem with posting this message in both forums- I guess I should have checked the C4 forums first. I just wanted to confirm if the C5 Forum was indeed the forum you had intended to post your question in. No harm done.

Like you, I don't know about what difference, can be on c5 and c4 on convertible top installation.
Maybe some guys know about and will let me know some points that are basic on both.
By the way, congratulation, you are doing a fine job of supervising and helping. Keep on the good job.

I had a 96 LT4 convertible and now have a 2000 convertible. The tops are very different, secure differently and the top's framing is different. The C5 does not snap the rear into the toneau to secure it like the C4 does, the C5 top only secures on the front windshield frame. The C5 top is raised to a verticle position and then opens like the letter V. When the front is secured to windshield frame, the rear seals by a downard pressure generated by the tops framework as it is opened.
