I have a 99 w/24k that I would like to get a warranty for and hope to learn from the vast experience on the forum.

i have a GE warranty on my '00 Z51. its already paid for its self- had the tsb regarding oil in the intake manifold fixed (sort of), had the trans resealed, and well shortly have the trans replaced due to blown synchros. sofar, ive paid $200 for $1800 worth of repairs....not including the new trans that is coming. the waranty cost me $40 a month for 5 yrs, and includes electrical.

I bought a warranty for my 1998 from these folks back around Feb. when my old warranty was about to expire. I CAN'T say yea or nay about them though because I haven't had to use it yet. I will say that the fellow who owns the shop that cares for my car read over the paperwork prior to my purchase and told me it was a good warranty.

Paid about $1900 for 48 months or 48,000 miles - whichever comes first. IF you don't have an existing warranty they require an inspection. My old warranty was still in effect so they didn't even require that of me.

my deductable is $200 per visit, even if the engine AND trans are gettin replaced. $200 per visit, not per item. they dont warranty sensors though, not really a big deal

i have their 3 star plus:
engine, trans/transaxel and transfercase, drive axel, front suspension, steering, brake system, fuel system, cooling system, electrical system, interior comfor and climate controls, seals and gaskets, powet tech and electronics.

I had an aftermarket warranty that was already in place on my '96 when I bought it, I paid off the remainder of the warranty, about $1000 worth, when I bought the car. They made good on the first claim that I had but after that they got progressively worse on paying for claims, responding to phone calls, doing what they said they would do...etc, etc. I was really P-O'd at them by the end of the contract agreement. This was with Warranty USA. They still owe me (for about 4 years now, hahahah) $200 for a repair that cost me about $500. The last repair was near the end of the warranty, they slithered out of most of the bill one way or another and were really difficult to deal with. I don't think they EVER intended to pay me back for it. They probably thought it would cost me more to pursue it than it would have been worth.

As a result of that completely maddening experience I will NEVER own another aftermarket warranty !!!

I felt the same way after a similar experience but re-thought the matter after hearing that the ABS system on my '04 would cost about $4500 to replace when it messes up...so that scared the bajesus out of me and I got one from Warranty Direct...heard they were top notch...I will find out in about a year when their warranty kicks in ...0 deductible

I was able to get the GMPP warranty transferred to me for only $35. It is good to 50,000 miles or Dec 2008. I can then extend it further.

I could honestly not believe it when I was told I could get the warranty for $35!!!!! I guess I was in the right place at the right time.
