Aftermarket A/C for a '79 (questions)

This winter I'll be ripping the engine out of my '79 for a rebuild. I thought that as long as it was out and I'd have (a little) easier access to the firewall, it would be a good time to drop in the A/C unit my wife keeps bugging me about. Keeping in mind that I am usually patient and moderately mechanically inclined, I have a few questions though. Ecklers offers 2 types, one is "Factory Style" that "requires dash modifications to 78-82", the other is "Direct Style."

1) What (other than $200) is the difference?
2) What do "dash modifications" include - am I going to be cutting my car up?
3) Does anyone know of anyone else that sells aftermarket systems for a 79 or can anyone recommend one of these systems.
4) Would I be better off trying to find a shop to put together a system (and what would the cost be)?

Bob,
Does your car already have factory AC? If not get hold of Chris (69Myway) here on the Action Center. He did a superb job on his '69.

Just shot you an email about this.

There are several ways to go. I installed the Vintage Air system (custom installed...shall I say), and I am VERY happy with it. I am mostly happy because there is virtually nothing on my firewall! It is shaved smooth like a street rod.
