Anybody have the correct crimping tool for the beadlock fittings used when making AC lines. I need one and do not what to buy a new one for a one time job. I'll buy a used one or pay to use yours if possible. Thanks Brian G.

Brian

I dont have one. But I have yet to install the lines on my car. I was given 2 options for mine.

One was if I used the classic auto air lines (from tampa fla)they would sent me the lines and all of the fittings and then I could fit all of my fittings and send it back to them and they would crimp them for me.

Or a local auto parts store who I purchased a bunch of stuff for my car said they would do the same.

I have been thinking about you how is the car coming along. any pictures

I'm using Hot Rod air out of Texas. And they will do the same if I send my hoses made up. Only thing is that I never have very good luck with letting anyone do anything for me. And to mark all these lines and ship them then expect them to make all of them the way I made them seams like hopful thinking. I have not found a local place that has AC crimping tools yet. Im told you can not use hyd. type crimping tools that they will break the beadlocks. I'm installing the AC right now so I need a way to do this. By the way I saw your car in Carlisle. It looked good. Every time I went by where you had it parked there was no one around. My body is on the frame and I'm finishing the eng. comp right now. All I have left is the AC and the heater hoses. Then I move on to the fun part. Wiring the car. I have all my parts inc my new int from Al Knock. I had him do the wiseguy seats in the orig color and patten. I'll talk to you soon. Have a merry Christmas. Brian G.

Brian good luck I hope you find someone who can help you with the a/c lines.

As for the wiring.I found this to be the most challenging as it took re carefull planning and thought. How did you do with powersteering hose. post us some pictures

As for carlilse not beeing around the car I have a hard time sitting too long.

If I'm not mistaken, YOGI'S will rent you one. What you do is give them a deposit and they will ship the tool. Once your finished ship it back and they refund the deposit. This was a couple years ago and maybe has changed. Check them out at www.yogisinc.com

Local A/C shop did mine for $5.00 per fitting; I cut and marked them for radial orientation, and they crimped them for me.

Larry I was able to use the stock PS lines from the doner 92 vette. I am using all the stock assy. brackets from the 92 LT1. As for pics I hate to say I have not taken any since I brought the body home. I never think to take pics. Thats why the pics you see of my other cars are when they are at my house. My wife always takes them. Now that the 60 is in my home garage I will have to take some soon and then I will post them. I may have to take John Z's advise and make up the AC lines and bring them to someone and have them crimped. If I can watch when it is done I can make sure they are done right. These C1's suck to work on. Midyears are cake compared to these. I can't wait to start full time on my new GS coupe. That I can build in my sleep. Brian G.
