Help! Aftermarket CD Changer

I purchased a Kenwood 6 disc changer for my 2007 corvette conv because I have navigation. So intern I only have the 1 disc in dash available. The changer powers up but it does not give me the cd/cdx button on the screen to play the changer. Do I have to purchase a 600.00 GM changer or is there a way I can get the kenwood to work. Yes I have XM. Is there a harness kit or plug and play I can use.

Not quite ready for an ipod. I actually found what I was looking for a plug-in-play 6 disc CD changer for my vette. Puchased it from Crutchfield - US SPEC
