Hello everyone, I recently purchased a set of pacesetter shorty headers for my 94 LT-1 Corvette. I am having a problem getting the emission tubes to thread in all the way. I am fairly certain it is because the threads(in the header tubes) are painted over :confused . Was wondering if any one could tell me what size tap I need to clean up the threads on the inside of these headers? If so where I may find them. Thank you all for your time, any info would be greatly appreciated.

I curious to see how this installation goes for you, because I'm pretty much dead set on getting the PaceSetter Header for my car as well.

Good Luck!

Hello everyone, I have found the answer. In case anyone was wondering the thread size is 7/8" 18. These headers have a terrible leak I do not recommend them.

Try the Exotic muscle long tubes mine fit without any problems. I the only mod was cutting about 1 inch out of the egr pipe and having it welded back together.

Where do they leak?

I think the question should be "Where DON'T they leak?"

Pacesetter is the last thing I'd have on my ride (quality is a real issue - hit 'n miss), and I don't recommend them to my customers.

Aren't shorties about half the cost of long tubes? But aren't shorties also a very negligible increase over the stock manifolds?

I know long tubes are expensive, but I'm going with them early next year. It's just a matter of whether they're the TPIS or the Hookers.
