I have the factory aluminum wheels on my '78 and am considering buying some Cragar SS wheels. I have heard that if you use Cragar SS wheels on a C3, you have to use a wheel spacer because of the calipers. Is this true? Is there another wheel I could get that is similar to the Cragar SS that I don't need a wheels spacer? Thanks!
I am looking into Cragar S/S rims as well. 69MyWay (Chris) informed me that wheel spacers are required so that your rims do not rub against the brake calipers. I believe that he said that you only need thin ones about 3/8" or so. BTW which S/S's are you interested in, the Classics or the newer Performance Series? As much as I love the Classics, I think I am going to go with the newer Performance Series S/S's in 16x8's. Check them out atwww.cragar.com .
I really like the Classic Cragar SS. I had them on a '71 Z-28 years ago & always wanted to get another set. I also like the old Aluminum Slots, but I can not find them any where. But I am starting to like the new one that have the retro look. Maybe I am starting to arrive in the new millinium!
