I have a 1979 L-82 with a built 350. I am running an Edelbrock Performer intake with a 750 Edelbrock carb. Tried several air cleaner assemblies, but the only one I can use and still close the hood is a Edelbrock Pro Flo..It's the triangler one with the foam insert. A 14" with a drop base hits my HEI so whatever I use needs to be smaller...Please, any suggestions. Andy

Several companies (moroso etc) make 14" with offset carb hole (the hole in not centered in base) to provide dist clearance. The supplied air filter lid STUD is not straight, but is crooked. Look around and see if those are available with drop base. Please Note !!!!! ... There have been many instances where the pro flo foam catches fire :eek when carb spits/pops ... disasterous with fiberglass hood:eek! Fiberglass burns fast & furious!
