How does everyone deal with the low clearance on the C6 air dam without continually damaging it ?

Be very, very careful...no steep driveways, no high speedbumps, no front parking, drive very little...you asked.

Don't pull into a parking spot too far or better yet as was said - back into the parking spot.

The air dams are replaceable like tires and brake pads. Scraping them is "normal" in some cases. Avoid steep drive ways and speed bumps as already stated. Otherwise, just enjoy driving it.

If you think the C6 has a low air dam, drive a Volt - it's air dam is an inch lower and scraps on just about everything.

That's a lot of air dam replacements. Your driveways and roads must have a lot of steep transitions. I feel for you.

The front air dam comes in 3 parts. right and left side and the middle. I just ripped off the passanger side. Looks like it can be snapped back on??? What good are these air dams? Thinking about ripping off the driver side and just going with the middle section? Thoughts???

They reduce drag for better fuel economy, they direct more air to the radiators for better cooling and they provide down force to keep the car from flying at way faster than legal speeds.

If all you do is drive around town, you could remove them and never notice the difference. However, if you track it you'll need them. If you do a lot of highway driving, you'll use more gas.

And some of the new cars have carbon fiber air dams/splitters Oh, that's going to be expensive. Yes, be very careful.
