True statement but I believe regardless of whatever Vette I may own, I'm going to treat it the same way as my current. They're too special not too. I haven't decided 100% whether I'm going to sell it so I could very well end up keeping it. Who knows? Only time will tell.....:(

I'm with yellow_2002_germany....

it's going to depreciate no matter what, so get out there and drive the heck out of it! Keep it waxed so the bugs and dirt just rinse off, keep your seats and dash conditioned, and the mileage you put on it will only make a minor difference when and if it comes time to sell it. And they are not all that delicate...aside from a few computer bugs here and there they're really sturdy little buggers!

Guy analogy (these always work on my husband): Would you rather look at a picture of Cindy Crawford (or insert your fantasy date here) all your life, or would you rather get in there and really get busy with Cindy Crawford, even if her hair and lipstick get a little mussed? Start enjoying your Vette, and you'll find it's well worth the money!!

vettegirl.....

You're right....I can't argue with you. I keep her too clean....almost perfect.....better than showroom so that's the reason why I don't drive it as much as I would like. I love the way Vette's look when they're clean....I like mine like that all of the time. I just don't have the time to spend cleaning it as much as I would need to if I drove it often. Oh well. I think I will start driving it a little more......you all have talked me into it.

Good analogy! I think that you have hit the nail on the head!:L

Thanks, Todd. Nice engine bay! I think that I'm going to bag the upgrades, though. I've decided to put my baby on the market. Hopefully she'll sell quickly. Thanks for the info everyone.

Ask for advise, than decide to sell???

Drive it! and drive it often. These cars are just cars and I can appreciate that you are making payments, most of us are. Just remember that " life is no dress rehearsal" you should enjoy yourself and everything you have while you can. I drive mine every day because I want full value for myself-not the guy who buys it from me when I decide to trade up again. Have fun.

VAmagred01,

I don't know where you got the idea that everyone pays cash for their Corvettes, but let me tell you I am paying on mine and will be for some time!! We do however enjoy the car every chance we get. Saturday night we put the top down and took a 100 mile joy ride along Lake Ontario. Why -> Why not? The car did get dirty but, as previously mentioned, a little soap and water and it was good as new. We did store it in the garage over the winter, but we have about 14,000 miles on the car. My wife even takes the car to the grocery store!!! (Her 1st my 4th Corvette)

Corvette's should be purchased to be driven, not looked at. :lou

Remember that Bloomington hands out awards to survivor cars as well as trailer queens!!!

Everyone has their own reasons for buying a Vette, but don't be afraid to drive it because of resale concerns. Trust me, whatever dealer you go to is going to give you significantly less than what you think it is worth anyway. If you don't believe me for giggles try it in the near future.

I also agree with KorveteKarl, this is not a dress rehearsal. I never want to look back on my life and say "If only...". I could give you several tragic stories at this point as everyone could, however I don't think it is necessary.

Best of luck in your decision.

Boy, how did this thread get dragged up? ;shrug

Bobby, Karl and C4 Fan,
I don't want to dampen your enthusiam for adding helpful advice, but you do realize that this thread is almost 2 years old, right?
