during my sr install (not recommended) i cut all the smog pump crap off my car, pump and four miles of hoses. im not looking for hp gains im just trying to find the timming mark. really though its against federal law to tamper with any pollution control device on you ride. anyhow i was just trying to clean up the engine compartment and did away with the clutter (can you say global warming). during the process i ended up making my own eliminator pully for less than 50 bucks using the same belt. if anybody is interested i have pics, specs and prices for all parts involved.

email me the info steve!

thanks!

btw i need your home address again. i deleted it accidently in my hotmail account :(

specs. very long

hey mike. worked two 12 and 13 hour days on the super ram, headers, air pump eliminator and valve covers. the pully kit fab and install is mute comepared to the rest. i would say total of 1.0 hours on the pulley, includes measureing, drilling and installing. now rounding up the parts takes a little more time. this project will take you to home depot, the local scrap metal business and orileys parts store( part number at orileys for the 6 grove pulley with bearing is 38008 its a ford pully, like 16 bucks). i will give you the parts list but you really need to view the pics to see what iv done and to save me some key strokes. i used the two bracket bolts directly on the driver side of the water pump. one is a stud and the other is a bolt hole both in the head. the other bracket hole i used is the oem in the top of the alternator. i measured the air pump pully from top of pulley to the next bracket bolt directly below by the water pump to get the new pully bolt hole location no matter what size od ( with in reason, i mean not a 17inch 5 lug). then i measured over to the top alternator bracket hole and placed that bracket hole just above the one i drilled for the pully. then rounded the edges of the main bracket off just above the alternator bracket hole. i used a piece of 1' x 1/2" aluminum block for the main bracket. next, pulley hole and bolt is 5/8 by 4". i used a piece of the square aluminum tubing (1 1/2 x 3/4) for the spacer with this bolt between the bracket and the pulley, small od washers on both sides of the the pulley at the bearing. then i used an adjustable brace from the bracket to the alternator. which the one i bought is a 6" with 3/4 holes. then two 5/16 x 2 3/4" bolts for the alternator to pulley bracket. also i used a round 1" long spacer at the alternator (back side) and a 3/16 long round spacer (back side) of the pulley bracket. of course you will need all the nuts , lock washers and flat washers as well. i bought the pulley at orileys. the aluminum bracket at the scrap yard and all the nuts bolts and adjustable bracket at home depot. good luck. ok tried to attach a very small pic under the 85k limit but would not attach. so if anybody wants to see the pics i will have to mail them to you.

But what about the visual, tests for smog parts.
Oh, OH.
Let me know your secrets.
Thank-You
tony
And Good Luck

my secret

good point. luckly i dont live in california. also depends on what you are doing with the car. stickers are cheap. in fact did you know that oklahoma doesnt even require a sticker? so as you can see there is really no secret. if there was i wouldnt tell you cause then it wouldnt be a secret now would it.
