AIR pump

I just purchased a 78 Silver Anniversary L82 Automatic.
Did they all come with an AIR pump and EGR system?
Mine is missing all of that stuff and I would like to restore it back to original specs to avoid hassle getting it inspected.

Yes I believe it should have a Air Pump.By 78 Corvette were smogged equiped.

Do they have air pump eliminators for C3's like they do for C4's? Maybe the previous owner took it off for more performance? Sorry that I'm not really answering, but I'd like to own a C3 one day and need all the knowledge I can get.

Does taking the Air Pump off effect performance?Horsepower increase? If yes would it effect the ECM system causing the Check Engine light to come on?

You must be in one of the smog-testing cities. But you may already know your car is exempt from testing. All you have to do is find a garage that doesn't care about the missing smog junk.

If the car isn't a daily driver, consider getting Texas Antique Auto plates. No inspections, 5-year registration for 50 bucks! I've already found a great set of original-year plates to put on my car in 2004!

So you guys in Texas get them inspected at a shop as opposed to us in Illinois where we have to take them to some "Air Team" facility. The people that work at the Air Team aren't very bright and they're not exactly the type of people you want touching your car.:L :L :L
