alignment question

Hi folks, about this alignment issue, when is this required? Just if there is a drift or wear problem or at a specific time? Are all four wheels aligned at the same time always? Thanks

I keep an eye on my tires and if I see a problem developing like say, cupping on the inside of the front tires, I go get an alignment!
