Almost no brakes

Guys,
Back to work on my project 81. The next thing I'm attacking are the brakes. The pedal goes all the way to the floor easily, and then stops poorly when I crush it in the floor. The car pulls to the right significantly when I do stop.
The power brake booster does not have anything hooked up to the grommet on the front. From reading through some old posts, I know there should be a check valve there, and then a vacuum line to the back of the carb. So I bought a check valve and some 3/8 line. Does this hook up to the hard line/tube coming off of the back of the carb? Any suggestions? Thanks, :beer

If I remember correctly it hooks up to a fitting on the rear of the Intake. You should have full manifold vacuum.

I hooked up to the hard line coming off the back of the carb. After starting the car, I hit the brakes and I get nothing, almost no resistance from the pedal.:confused

yes, I bled the brakes first - sorry, I should have included that in my post. There was alot of air in the system. Also, the right rear caliper has a small leak

as long as you have a leak you will not get a good pedal, also check your lines .
I am replaceing all the lines on my 76 to fix a simular (bad brakes) problem; everything else (except the booster) is new, but the lines are in bad shape.
Check the link on top for sponsers VBP gives a 10% discount to CAC members and their stuff is tops.
