I am restoring a 71 Big Block. Can't get the alternator block to line up straight. It's tilted back. Any suggestions to get it to sit straight?

Are you talking about the alignment when mounting it on the engine?

Do you have all the proper spacers/washers in place?

I've done a frame off restoration on this car. Now that I'm reassembling, the alternator won't align. Originally, there were no spacers or washers. Quite frankly it's been some time ago and I don't recall the exact alignment of the alternator. It is possible when I had the alternator rebuilt, they put the wrong pulley on it. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Yep,

You have to have the correct washer between the pulley and housing to have the correct spacing.

I can't think of a way at the moment to figure out what is correct.

If I do, I will get back with you here.
