I have a couple of annoying gremlins on my 1992 convertible and was wondering if someone can steer me in the right direction to resolve the problem(s).

1. Passenger side power window will not operate from the driver side control at all, but it will work with the switch on the passenger door after giggling the switch. My first thought was the window switches were bad, but both at the same time? Could there be a loose connection at the window motor? Any suggestions on where to begin troubleshooting?

2. Water Temp and Oil Temp gauges do not work. HOWEVER, the digital water temp and oil temp on the display seem to operate fine. Thought about sending units, but seems odd that both water and oil are bad. Are there separate sensors (sending units) for the guage vs. digital display? I checked all the fuses and they appear in order. Any help on this one would be appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance.

This may or may not be the answer you're looking for but my recent experience has some similarity to yours.

When I got my 'Vette back from the body shop, I noticed the turn signals were not working. Probably a bad light bulb was my first reaction. Then I noticed that my ABS wasn't cycling on startup, instead, it cycled when I made right or left turns. Also, my rear hatch release on the passenger door wasn't working, although the driver's door release switch was working. Finally, when I was going up a steep driveway at an angle, the interior lights suddenly flashed!

I took the 'Vette back to the body shop and said, "Fix it!". They got a professional mechanic take a look and he figured it was a bad ground. You see, my car got a whole bunch of lights and wires disconnected before the paint job. During this process it was entirely possible that this caused a ground connection to come loose. So everytime the 'Vette's body would flex, some lights and devices would work or act weired and so on. I don't know how but the mechanic was right and he "fixed" the problem.

I'm confused. You say the passenger window does not operate from the switch in the console (is that where it is on a '92?), but it does operate from the switch in the passenger's door? (after jiggling it of course) But then you say both are not working. :confused

It is entirely possible for both switches to go bad at the same time. Unusual, but possible, especially on a car as old as the '92 model year. ;)
