None yet, but working on it.
Hi C3'ers.

Last week I posted a question about pricing a '75 on eBay. It was pretty much the concensus (is that how that's spelled?) that it may be best to wait and see what else is out there. Thanks for all the input.

FYI, here is where that one is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2417968003

So I'm still looking...on eBay since it's so handy and I saw this one also available in my area (within 100 miles or so): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2418338049&category=6168

This one needs some work also but not nearly the amount of the first one. Other than a paint job, I think the only major body work are the front and back bumper covers (according to the auction description, anyway).

So I guess the main question now is, how much should I expect to pay for the covers? I know the paint job will be $2K-$4K so that's a given.

I think overall this looks like a better deal than my first find.

Of course I'd love to hear from anyone that has anything to say about the issue.

Thanks a lot.

This car appears to be in better shape cosmetically and will more likely be ready to roll with minimal work. The other car had a rebuilt motor. As someone else posted, motors are cheap relatively speaking while interiors and painting the car can get very expensive. This car has not mets its reserve at $4,250 and the other sold for $3,500.

Lots of tradeoffs to be made. The only way you are going to be sure is to get the checklist off this site and go look at some cars making rough estimates as to what it will cost to repair it.

it gotta be love

at least you seem to be taking your time thats very important ,i am sure from reading the other posts on this site you should know what to look for as far as costly repairs go. i own a 75 its my first vette and it started out needing just a rear bumper cover and paint and now i am at about $2000 rear wheel bearings, front rotors and bearings ,radiator ,rear leaf spring and bushings and now knock on wood i am going to get a paint estimate. so the point is look very carefully dont be afraid to get dirty when you are looking at the car on the 75 check the e brake they are usally the first thing to quit working if at all possible jack up each back wheel one at a time and grab the tire and shake it front to back like your checking tie rods if it wobbles it more than likely needs wheelbearings and if it wobbles bad it may have eaten into the axle where the bearing rides .then continue from there good luck my friend i am new to this site also welcome..:beer
