Ordered a set of SS brake lines from Classic Tube.. Nice people. I said... Heh I want to convert to a dual MC can you bend the lines in SS to 1965 spec and make it so they are 2 seperate lines directly to the MC?

I want the brake line on the rear on top of the frame to match up with the mounting points. Sure no problem....They Said

Not what I got. They sent me a brass front split block with 1 in 2 out for the front lines. Only problem is the threaded holes in the mounting Block are larger then the front line brake fittings. (See Pic's)

The rear line seems to be a 67 as it only lays on the inside of the frame. I also have a bunch of straight lines that I have no clue what to do with. Maybe they are the lines that go to the MC.....Oh.....I guess I have to bend them to fit...!!!!!! Ahhhhhh..didn't I pay for that?

The rear framecrossover line is not secured yet but does look like it will have to be bent up from the center.

Also..look at my driver side frame rear kick up and note that there are two holes side by side where a brake clip held the rear feed line and the crossover line to the passeger side of the car. I wasn't there when these lines were pulled and was told that it was the first time they had seen a clip secureing the two lines together. The AIM does not show this clip...OK
OK John Z Your On....Whats The Deal with this clip thing.

So you guys that have converted to Dual MC ..... Whats the deal here? How did you connect your STOCK rear line to the MC? And I guess you had to change the fornt split block.

Isn't there a kit that comes with the MC and the rest of the gack?

I might just send this kit back and order a sraight up 65 kit and get the MC Conversion Kit ....

Mark, unfortunately bending S/S lines are a real bear...:ugh In all honesty, you would have been better served to go with the standard brake lines. Bending (if necessary) the softer steel lines is much more easily accomplished. Not to mention that even the regular steel lines will still probably outlast you...:L

The crossover line takes a clip and screw at the center, just in front of the diff support bracket. Ref. the photo above of the two holes in the front of your kickup - someone added them in the past - they were never in the frame or used at St. Louis. The last clip as the brake line went rearward was on the frame side rail before it bent inboard and down to get around the corner on the way to the "tee" - see photo below. A clip was added in '67 on the front side of the crossmember in that area to stabilize the pipe, but it wasn't on the '65.

Heh Thanks John for the reply.... That clears that up..!!! No Clipy.!!

Now ..check out the motor end of the brake line they sent...It points straight up and has a fitting. There is nothing else in the kit that mates with it. The only other parts I have are those 2 straight line. Each is a different lenth and both have the larger fitting on one end that appears to go to the MC....but they are not bent. And... they have the small fitting at the other end.(See pic's from first post.
