My 2001 Z06 has a fixed mast antenna which makes it difficult to put on a car cover. I called the dealer from whom I bought the car and the service guy was unsure if Chevrolet makes an electric antenna!! Has anyone replaced their fixed mast antenna at a Chevrolet dealership. I just notice that Mid-America has a kit for around 200 dollars-has anyone used it?

Yes, GM makes a power antenna for the Vette. Just look at a convertable, they have them. Are you sure the service guy was from a Chevy dealer? He should know the answer to that one. You can buy one from the dealer, it is around $100 to $125 depending on the dealer. It is not very hard to install. I installed a power antenna on my brothers Z28.

Eckler's and Mid-America offer conversion kits.

I understand that Radio Shack may have a 'shorty' antenna that is a straight replacement. FWIW.

My 2001 convertible has the power antenna. I am sure you could use the same one on the Z06. I wish it would go down when you use the CD though. I know this happens on imports
