I rebuilt the turbo 350 trans in my 76. I had a little problem with the "S" link for the manual selector and when I pulled the pan saw some material in the pan. Looks like normal wear and tear some clutch material some metal but very very fine.
The car has less then 5 miles on it and there was more material than I expected to see. not a lot but a very thin skim coating on the bottom of the pan. The torque converter is a new B&M torque master.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Scott,
This is normal on a fresh rebuild. More so if the steel plates between the clutch discs were replaced. As long as it's a gray color. If it's copper or brass colored you may have a problem.

THANKS,
That is what I was hoping to hear. The steels are new so I guess I am OK.

I would suggest putting a few thousand miles on it and change the filter and fluid. If you don't already have one I would put a trany cooler on as well. Droping the temp even 20 or 30 degrees will extend the trany life quite abit.
See ya............:Steer :v :Steer
