I just updated my fog lights to the 50 watt style. Are there other quick mods that anyone can suggest?
 
K&N filter?

What have you done?
Performance or looks?

I am running RayBrig headlights. They make the factory lights look like 2w bulbs. (no, they are not blue) A little spendy, but worth it if you drive at night a lot.
 
What's a K&N filter? I haven't done much so far. (Starting a new business, etc.) I've spent some time fixing small things like power antenae (Cut wire). Missing trim screws, cigarette lighter disconnected. I'm not a super mechanic but I can spin a wrench. The last owner was neglectful of the finer points of vette ownership. I enjoy working on the car as much as do driving it!!
 
It is a filter element (brand of filter) that is made from cotton instead of paper. It flows more air. (more air, more power)

You can replace just the filter element, or you can get a modified filter box.

Exhaust would be another consideration. An aftermarket exhaust system will make a performance difference, and make it sound more like a corvette should.

They publish a book called Insider Hints. It's packed full of useful low buck and high dollar performance upgrades.
I have used this as a guideline for modifying my 88 and it runs great.
What is nice about the book is they take basically stock engines, dyno them, perform a small upgrade and then post the results. It gives you a good idea of what to expect for the dollar you are spending.

I've been thinking about that TPIS book. Can you give me any more feedback on it? Do they just cover the L98 or do they also cover the other C4's?
 
Buy a K&N filter from Autozone, take off the stock air lid and get out a pair of tin snips or a dremel cutter.

Cut open a large square hole in the air lid, so that almost all of the K&N is exposed when you reinstall.

Look under your Throttle Body and youll see a coolant hose coming in one side and out the other, remove the two hoses and mate them together with some pvc pipe and clamps. Or you can just buy a piece of 5/8" heater hose from Autozone and run it straight.

Remove the MAF sensor from the intake tract, its the black sensor between the bellows and the air filter housing.
Take the snips and cut out the air screens on both sides, but i would advice against touching the sensor element in the middle, and its heat fins. The heat fins can be removed, but its risky because you might damage the sensor element.

All of these have proven results on L98s.

The L-98 motor is the prime focus for most of the upgrades and test but a lot of their suggestions will work well on most small block Chevy's. As their name suggest they can work wonders with TPI engines.
I highly recommend this book. It may seem a bit pricey for a small paperback book but so far it has been the most comprehensive source for real life test results. Everyone hypes their products, these guys actually cull out the crap from the good stuff.
