Iam interested in purchaseing some new wheels and rubber for my CE. I have a question to all regarding 17x11's in the rear. Any problems related to that other than increased cost and not being able to rotate the wheels?
I recall reading somewhere that this caused a mishandleing condition. Doesn't seem to me that it would. Any thoughts?
Thanks

You shouldn't have any probs as long as offset is ok. Try AFS Wheels...they have nice selection of zr1 style 11" rims, if that's the style your looking for. If you're going with an different wheel, you'd wanna make sure offset is ok. I know lots of guys with 11's on the rear of lt-1 and lt-4 vettes, no prob's.

Youll have no problems, they might stick out a little though.

It would change handling characteristics in extreme situations, but not exactly something that you cant adapt to.

I'm running the ZR-1 5-spoke (ZR-1 offset) on the rear of my 92 - they stick out some. I mounted Grand Sport fender flares and a set of 'mud flaps' to cover them and provide more fender protection. I can't complain.

A wheel with a Grand Sport offset will not stick out - or not much. Check the offset for the wheels you're thinking about.

I wanted satin silver wheels to match my CE/ZR1 front wheels and they are not available. So, I went with the ZR1 offset and added the flares.

I'm running the 17 X 11 Chrome AFS with 315 tires and have no problems at all. The AFS uses the GS offset and does not stick out at all.

other pics?

i have also been thinking about getting some ZR-1 style rims, 11 inch in the back. but i dont want the fender flares.

i just want an idea of how far the will stick out in the back, anyone with more detailed pictures of the rear clearance over the stock ferder?

I saw an LT1 car with the 11" on the rear with out fender flares on it and I would say, this was a few years ago so my memory is a tad off, that they stuck about an inch or so.
