I keep seeing the comercials and ads for the G-tech dyno/0-60/everything meter, has anyone tried it yet, and do you like it?

I've had a G-tec pro for a year or so. I've only used it a few times, but found it to be a pretty usefull device. if set up properly it appears to be quite accurate, but IMHO the best use for it is for comparitive testing when doing HP mods. in those cases the actual times aren't as important as whether your gaining or loosing time with your changes to the car.

YMMV,

I have one and with it I found out the 1/4 mile track was only 1270 feet on the tower side.
The lights on the tower side had no roll out .
The track has been reset thanks to the Big G.
It works well and I have found it to be very accurate.
If you are looking for a toy to play with I have had a lot of fun with mine.
Don't forget the issues at the track.

I've had both the original GTech Pro and the newer GTech Competition (since replaced by the SS). I've seen the older Pro for as little as $35; it's a neat toy but as stated above it's better for checking improvements between engine mods. The Competition model is practically a professional-caliber unit which shows RPMs, gives you shift lights if you want them, a full Christmas Tree, records umpty-teen runs on up to four different cars, and lets you download the whole schmear to your PC to track using their included software. Plus the user interface is VASTLY improved on the newer models. If you've got the $$, buy the SS or the model above that. Or borrow one first... if you want something neat but cheap, get the Pro model. It's better than a butt dyno.

I have not yet tried Passport's competitive product.
