My 85' with the digital dash has a bug in my tach somewhere, it is fine until about 3000 rpm on fast acceleration, it skips from like 2500 to 4200 then back to 3800 all while I am accelerating, I think its just a short in the wire somewhere between the tach and distributor. Have any of you guys put a aftermarket tach in? I was thinking of just putting a good dial tachometer right in front of the factory one on the dash. The factory digital tach is just too slow, it doesn't keep up with the rpm and I have a manual trans so I need to know what rpm's I'm at. What suggestions do you guys have for a good tach? or placement of the tach?
