Erm... anyone in California cares to check one person IRL? Here's the full story:

A few months ago I saved enough to buy a C3 Corvette. A forum member Leejandz (Jason A. Wong) offered to take care of the actual purchase, because I cannot come to US easily (need to obtain permit, which takes about a month). So we talked, I sent him money, he looked at few cars etc. All went well till some two weeks ago when he should contact me with final car reports. Since then he isn't on AIM, doesn't return phone calls, does't answer emails. Frankly, I am very confused, so I would like to ask someone from California (Orange county prefered) if he can check on him, if he still lives etc :) I will send you the exact address by email.

Thank you
Jakub

P.S. Because it takes me a year to save $2k when I save half of my salary, you know that I am very interested in what has happened :D

Jakub,
You can use google.com to check his phone number (if it is listed) and hopefully it will be still active. It is ALWAYS a dangerous situation sending strangers money because there are so many B$#tards that will rip you off! I mainly do business with businesses and rely on their reputation. Is he still on the forum?

Just checked the Member's roster

and LEEJANDZ last visited CAC on 06/03/2003 and he last posted on 05/30/2003.

He also lists his occupation as a car-broker.

Good luck Jakub. I hope he is located and has a perfectly innocent explanation for why he has not contacted you.

Jakub, I was just wondering if you ever found that Vette you were looking for. I would have asked for my money back after he went awol the last time. It was Real weird the last time to not return a call for almost a week.

JASON A. WONG call home...!!!

Jason: -we are anxious to hear that you have somehow redeemed yourself, about possibly taking money under false-pretenses (in other words a possible "swindle") as this will eventually definately catch-up to you and that can lead to incarceration in a penal-institution not of your choice (ie: -"the Slammer"); --so please resolve all of this to everyones satisfaction (preferably by refunding the man's $2k via WesternUnion-wire), as we don't take lightly to perpetration of Fraud on a Member, -particularly a trusting one from the Czech-republic! Also, my 2-cents about choice of Vettes would be no newer than an '80 (non-california model with the 1st-computer and small 305ci-V8) owing that it was the last Vette that YOU can easily work on it there in Prague without special Computer-related equipment... ~Bob VonHeck

ATTENTION: MR WONG: I SUGGEST YOU CHECK YOUR EMAIL AND RESPOND BACK TO ME WITHIN 48 HOURS.
