Gone but not forgotten
My car will be ready Monday, and I can't find any of these things locally. I've tried all of the hot rod and performance shops that I can think of, and even a few muffler shops in the process.High performance engine sealing from Earl's Performance.
Header collector seals: 3 in. diameter, 3-bolt
These Earl's Pressure Masters long term seals combine graphite foil sealing inserts, aluminum retainers, and a temperature resistant silicone elastomer to make ordinary gaskets, seals, and adhesives obsolete. Each seal is framed by the aluminum retainer and can be preloaded for guaranteed positive closure and optimum bolt preload. There is no need for adhesive during installation or reassembly and no need to retorque after assembly. The aluminum retainer gives a metal to metal seal on headers, collectors, or valve covers, and allows the seal inserts to be easily replaced if needed.
Sold in pairs.
Does anone know of a place in SoCal, preferably the South Bay area (Torrance, Redondo Beach, Long Beach, etc.) of Los Angeles, although I guess I could drive to one of the valleys if I had to.
I only need the inserts, not the complete gasket assembly.
When I bought the first set, I actually bought two packages thinking there was only one per package; I didn't see the "Sold In Pairs" label at the time, The bad thing is, I can't find the second set now; I probably gave them to someone, nice guy that I am, but now that only seems to get me in trouble anymore.
Any help would be appreciated.
