things are tight money wise, but its winter and i'd like to keep busy . has anyone tried to port the inj housings and plenum themselves . if so do you have any helpfull hints and what is needed . thankyou for any help.

i posted it over there also and they basicly told me not to do it . so i am a little scared to do it . is this dominic ?

Brad,

Yeah that's me. Certainly if you are unsure, Jeffvette or Locobob are a very viable alternatives. I have previously done porting of my manifold on my 84 so I have some "history" doing this. Here in Chicago, I have a bunch of guys that have done it and several others that are going to do it.
The issue I see with sending the Plenum and the IHs out is that they still won't be matched to the heads. So once I have the Injector Housings done, I'll bolt onto the heads and port match that way. Need to pull the secondaries and stuff head ports with styrofoam.
I just get a rush having done things on my own and seeing the results. Having owned an 84, there was no other way. :chuckle

I sent my air horn, plenum and injector housings to Locobob to have a port and polish and was very satisfied with the job. I opted not to have them refinish them and did them myself with some rattle can paint from Lingenfelter. I also masked and tied all the assesorys away from the cam covers and sprayed them on the car. All turned out well.
