I picked up a Mobile One oil filter to do an oil change this week. I'm just curious to know if anyone has any experience with them or and literature to read and compare. It's a rather expensive filter compared to the normal at $11.99 a pop.
Any info from anyone would be appreciated.

I know you're out there. I can hear you breathing.
So am I to assume no one has tried one of these filters on a C5?

Not tried them on a C5. Used them on a couple of Porsches. They worked fine and since I am having a hard time finding the Delco PF filters, I may go with the Modil 1.

I've used the Delco UPF's and K&N's . I've heard M1's are ok though.

With the exception of the UPF44, the ACDelco Ultraguards are no more. That short-lived filter line was absolutely the best oil filter on the market--and still would be, today. Unfortunately, GM (typically) had a great product but failed to market it properly. Sales were slow. GM was in a short-term profit mode so Ultraguard got killed after a year and half.

The K&N Performance Gold is a pretty good filter but I think, right now, the Mobil 1 filter is about the best oil filter which is mass-marketed. I'm pretty sure it's made by Champion Filter (not to be confused by Champion spark plugs) which is an outstanding mfg. of filters and is often used by big companies to "private label" relatively small runs of a product. Champion makes it to Mobil Oil's specs.

I use the M1 filter on my ZR1. In fact, I'd use them on my other cars but an Ultraguard (which was even better) was available for each of them, where one was not avail. for the LT5, so shortly after GM announced it was going to discontinue Ultraguard, I bought a large supply of PF52s and PF1218s.

Mobil 1 filters are just a bit pricey--probably because Mobil uses the "Mobil 1" brand on them--but I think they're the best choice for any high-performance engine.

Thanks for the reply fellas.
I only looked at the Mobile 1 filter as a replacement for the AC Delco UPF44 as you have. C4C5 Specialist anounced a AC Delco replacement filter but I don't remember the nomenclature. Anyway, my oil change is done and the Mobile 1 filter is in place.
Thanks again.

I have used the Mobil One oil filter for the past 3 1/2 years on my Y2K C5. I figure since I use their oil I might as well use their Filters:beer
