Anyone use "accumat" under their interior?

Just wondering if it's worth putting a product like "accumat" under the new carpet I'm installing? I bought the masse back instead of the poly cause it's supposed to help cut down on the "noise" (sweet as it is).

I think it would take a LOT of work to cut down on a C4 's noise!

I've got two mats on each side in the front of my vette (I cover the originals with a cheaper mat for regular use) and a also a rubber mat on the driver's side as well, doesn't make any difference. Crank the old Bose up!

Best way is probably to buy a C5, but then you lose a lot of the character...

There was a great article in Vette magazine over the summer regarding carpet replacement in a low-cost restoration of a 1984. They added the Accumat and according to the author/installer...took just a tiny bit of effort to apply with the carpet but says did a wonderful job of dropping some Decibals out of the interior. I am thinking it was a July or August edition.

I haven't done any before and after measurements for noise reduction...but there is a HVAC product at Lowes called reflectix that is a 3/16" foam with an aluminum foil barrier. I've used it in both my C4 and a C3 that I'm working on now. I think it helped a little with the noise and noticeably with the heat. It takes 2 1/2 - 3 rolls to do the whole interior.

Dynamat

I covered the inside of mine with Dynamat after going to muffler elems. Still loud, but I don't have a headache when I drive it now. If you are looking for stock quite with non stock pipes, it won't do it, but it will make it better. It is a lot of work to pull all the carpet. It helps to have a friend help. I think it would help more if you both were not 6' 240lbs also.
