After having fun with my HOT cammed, CNC headed, OEM LT4 short block setup (making 76 RWHP over stock), I'm moving up to a 381 cu in motor with a GM 847 camshaft.

It apparently is made by Crane for Chevrolet (GMPP). As you can see the numbers with 1.5's are big, I will be running 1.6's.

Has anyone tried it? I figure it ought to pick up the HP a bit more. :D

I believe that is a very popular choice for the fbody crowd, and you could always ask them for opinions. I don't know any C4 owners who use it, but I would think it would be a good cam choice. You definately can't use it with stock valve springs, which may explain why not many LT4 owners use it.

Thanks for the feedback.

It seems you are right...the F Body folks are more interested in absolute performance than the cruiser Corvette folks. :D

It should be pretty rowdy!

:)
