1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
Look like there were plenty of bargins to be had.

Sometimes this car market doesn't make sense. I watched a bunch of small blocks sell in the 40 range. These looked like show cars on TV.

Then I am watching E-Bay and see total wrecks / project cars selling for 26,000.00

Now I realize that you cant judge a car from looking at it on TV , but it seamed there were a lot of bargains to be had there.

Hi! Larry

I think the show and shines brought the big money. The 57 restro-mod was in the $150,000. + range. There was an original 340HP 63 matching numbers survivor car with Bloomington certificates that only brought in the $60s. I believe the people with the big money are looking for a maintenance free car, that looks great and they can have some fun with. 10% of the cars were Corvettes and supply and demand kept the prices down.

It would be nice to know how many of the Corvettes were original and what condition they were actually in.

Having watched both the Westworld auctions and the Palm Beach auctions, the prices are higher out West!

Also watched many nice cars suffer the fate of the "Quick Gavel". Another BJ trademark. If Boyd or Carroll are selling off a car, they have to break 3 times for commercials.

There were some REALLY good bargains to be had the first couple of days but after that things went crazy. Yesterday went more like Arizona did in January.

I have to say I absolutely love tivo, I never watch live tv any more. I tivo everything , then just fast forward thru commercials. Although I have to pay for the connivance nothing make me happier then not having all of this marketing shoved down my throat,

I agree with that. If I didn't dvr the shows I watch, I would go crazy, especially the Barrett-Jackson thing. I'm still trying to recover from the $46000.00 some moron paid for that VW truck in January! I must be losing touch with reality. It's hard to get old.

vette bargains at palm beach

I totally agree -- the big block c2 cars that were barely getting into the 100k range was a shock to me -- I also agree that there were many vettes -- too many for the sellers to get fair prices -- my other theory is...

corvettes were better cared for by the original owners and have through the years been sold to other owners that took great care of them -- as a result the standard is very high -- your vette needs to be all numbers perfect and the fit and finish needs to be top notch -- top flight and ncrs has set a high standard -- look i understand that vette people take great pride -- but it affects the market in that it hurts the middle class a little

i bought a 65 vert -- 4speed 365 nassau blue car for my brother's 40th b'day gift -- it was my first vette -- I had a blast shopping for it and you guys were soooooooooo helpful advising me and analyzing pix of stamps and codes -- because i wanted an original car -- i paid 41,150 -- for an original car that had numbers matching but a speed shop stamp on the block pad (next to the original vin stamp) -- this car will never be top flight but it's all original down to the bolts -- i love the car

my real point is to say -- shelby cars were driven into the ground and a lot of them came out of New Jersey and they did not survive well -- mopars the same a lot of rot --

how many 66 Vettes sold at Palm Beach?
I ask because I Just had an email from a local asking about membership in our Corvette Club. (said she just bought a 1966 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach.. )
