Can you do me a favour?

I'm trying to rebuild my board, and I'm almost sure the problem part is the little 14 pin integrated circuit (the little black fella to the left of the needle, not the white one)

If anyone's got a new board that they've yet to install, can you help me out with the part number stamped on that chip on your new one?

Because my chip is the original one, its so old that the part number isn't recognised by its original maker, National Semiconductors, so I don't know what would make a good replacement.

Who knows, it will probably help out a whole lot of folks with similar problems...

Cheers!

The part number on the old tach is # 1597777 and below this is CSC 8116
The number on the new board is #CS289GN14 and below this number is, # UEFK0112

Cheers dbettner,
The "7777" number on your old tach looks familiar, and i'm guessing the CSC 8116 is a manufacturer and date code, 16th week of 81 - which makes sense seeing you have an 82.

It looks like the same sort of layout for your new one - part number first then date code in the second number, ie 0112 meaning 12th week of 01. I'll have a look for other chips of that number on the web...

Thanks for looking!
