Apparently this Callaway Speedster went through the auction at the NCRS Mecum Auction in Kissimmee, Fla. a week ago - It did not sell, even though the car got into the low/mid 100's - Owner was thinking SuperSpeedster prices I suppose :eek

Did anyone go to the show or see the the auction?????? :v :m

First thing the owner needs to do is put the right wheels back on that car!! That might help it sell. That is the third time that I know of that car has been to auction and not sold. The owner either needs to lower the price or hold on to it until the value of all the Callaways go up.

If it's the same owner he should have taken the bids he got for this one and the SuperSpeedster in Bloomington. He'd have been WAY ahead.

I agree the wheels need to be swapped out. On that car the chrome C5 wheels probably lower the value by $5-10K...

Apparently low to mid-100's isn't going to move this particular car as Rogers Corvette has it listed as their featured car for $164,900 with a window sticker of nearly $186,000.

You can take a hunk of junk and put nice wheels on it, and the value and interest in the car goes way up. On the other hand you can take a gem, and put ugly wheels on it, and it becomes an eye sore. Back when I was selling cars as a hobby I found this out real quick. I still can't figure why the owner of this car still has wheels that looked hidious on the car it came with originally, and of all things, on a Callaway Speedster. Makes no sense. This car deserves much better.

It's all in the presentation.

Sam, I agree, this car does deserve much better - look at the underhood pics - how exactly does silver tie into the car?? :confused

...interesting :eek

Anyone remember what the car sold for at Bloomington??? (If it sold there?)

-Luigi

I remember that it nee1ded some TLC and I was not fond of those wheels on a Speedster. The OZ's really belong on it...

:cool

I'm not sure about Bloomington, but it hit $145,000 at Carlisle......no sell there.

I noticed on the window sticker that it says 402 h.p.......I thought the Speedsters had more than that??

Back when Corvette Mike had this car, he offered it to me for $150k with some room for negotiations. The hp rating on this car is the same as my 91 Callaway Aero vert. 403 hp, which I ended up buying instead.

When did the 475 h.p. package come into play??? Or was that pachage available then, they just didn't put it on this Speedster??

I believe my car has the developmental 475HP upgrade package which was to become the standard for the Speedsters.... Does anyone remember this cars number?? I will have to dig through the pictures I took of it at Bloomington.

I wonder if the 475 HP was an option for the Speedster vs the default engine configuration... though I can't see why anyone spending the kind of money to order a Speedster wouldn't go for the incremental cost of the 475HP package.

:cool

Im going to Rogers today...will bring pics of this one and the Aero 88 ;)

he offered me $120k trade for my b2k but I couldnt deal with the wheels and radiator screen in the gills on the Speedster so i had to let it pass. :L

I did take some cool pics which i will post tomorrow. :D
