If anyone can assist me with finding out how to get information as to the value of a 1978 red corvette (not in great condition but does run) I would very much appreciate the assistance. It is my uncle's car and I am assisting him in selling it after a stroke he suffered last year. Thank you.

Call the DMV and ask them the taxable value of the '78. That will give you a ballpark figure. Call an auto dealer and ask for NADA blue book values. Get on ebay and take a look at the '78s for sale and see what people are asking.

You could also contact a professional appraiser and have the old girl appraised.

Mike just gave you a few real good options to use to gauge the price of this 78. I use eBay as a real-time source as to what people are currently willing to spend. Remember, I spent 10K purchasing my Vette and spent 15K on restoration. If I were to sell it, I would never get 25K for her.

try autotrader.com or collectorcartrader.com this should give you an idea what those cars are being sold for locally. also nadaguides.com will give you an idea of book value for the car.
